Gro Alliance Hires Nick Hovey as its Field Production Lead

De Witt, IA. – Gro Alliance announces the hiring of Nick Hovey as its new field production lead.

Nick brings extensive seed corn production experience gained at past jobs with Syngenta Seeds in Coon Rapids, IA and as the field operations manager for Remington’s former seed corn production site in De Witt, IA. He also adds deep agronomic knowledge and experience from his past positions with Cedar County Coop and Advantage FS, both in the greater De Witt, IA area.

Nick will lead Gro Alliance’s seed acre expansion at its De Witt, IA growing location and manage the field supervisors in the company’s Iowa and Wisconsin seed production areas.

“Nick adds considerable depth to the agronomic knowledge base of the Iowa and Wisconsin field production teams.” said Jim Schweigert, president of Gro Alliance. “His hands-on approach to improving seed quality, yield reliability, and his broad network of elite growers and contractors will help us continue to improve and expand our field production activities to meet the needs of our clients.”

Nick and his wife Chelsea, live in West Liberty, IA with their 3-year-old son Maddyx and 1 year old daughter, Emma. They enjoy spending time with family and attending Iowa Hawkeye football games and Iowa State football and basketball games.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture studies from Iowa State University with a minor in agronomy.
